2021-2025
design and production of an award-winning sustainable construction toy
collaborations with the Centre Pompidou and Rude Studio
Happy Squares is a simple, self-explanatory system for open-ended play.
Made of square panels and connectors, this modular toy can be endlessly combined into large-scale structures. It is dedicated to exploring space at real size, collaboration and imaginary play. As a hands-on toy, Happy Squares allows children to solve engineering problems, stimulates creativity and imaginative play, materialises ideas in 3D, and play around with architectural concepts, like boundaries and volumes, all while playing.
Happy Squares are widely used by institutions such as the V&A, RA, Centre Pompidou, Cité de l’Architecture, and Kanal museum, alongside schools, festivals and nurseries, for recurring workshops and special events.
After 4 years, I have chosen to focus on other projects and decided to stop selling Happy Squares. You can acquire one of the last few sets on the exciting Okido selection.
